Default So how bad is it in Dishman Hills?

I've been hearing about the Dishman Hills burning. I see little blurbs about it on KREM.com, it doesn't look good.

I spent a lot of time as a teen hiking in the Dishman Hills. I always entered in the area near where Appleway crossed Dishman Mica Rd. It looks like there is a water tower above the area now, it wasn't there back in my day.

Has that area burned or is it further south? Just how bad is it?

Default Dishman Hills

I don't believe it is as bad as its been made out to be. I do feel for the people that lost there homes. The Dishman natural area just off Sprague/Appleway is still all intact my wife and I had lunch up there today. The heart of the fire was a little south but it did get close.

Yeah- It's bad. My sister-in-law was evacuated, and both people on either side of her lost their homes. She was lucky. But he property is a disaster. It will take months to clean it up. I feel for all thoes folks out there.

There was a small indentation in the rock face, we called it our cave, along the trail. From there we would hike all around that place. Hopefully it didn't burn to hot and it recovers quickly.

Sorry to hear that. At least they made it out with no injuries. Now comes the fun of dealing with insurance.
