Default Boulder Co vs Spokane Wa

Any opinions on which would be a better place to live for a single young professional?

I have been to Spokane and I like it, but after reading this forum for a while I have my doubts about the place and I am kind of scared to make the move.

I am looking at Boulder CO and would like to hear from someone who has lived in both places.

Thanks

If you have been to Spokane and like it I would tell you to be inclined to trust your own judgment. There are some well reasoned critiques of Spokane here but there are also a lot of negative opinions that aren't backed up by much in terms of rationale.

Boulder is a nice city. I haven't lived there but have visted a number of times. Obviously, it is very influenced by CU and you'll find a more pronounced environmental/liberal bent there. At the same time, it is really expensive. I'm not sure what field you're in but housing prices in Boulder are quite high.

Spokane has several universities but not one big state school so the college scene is present but not on the same level as Boulder. Some may see that as a plus, some as a minus. They both have great outdoor opportunities and a fairly similar climate. Again, it depends on what you're looking for. In my opinion, they are both nice places.

Default boulder vs spokane

rams,
I don't meet your qualifications but since you haven't received many posts I'll tell you what I know. I lived near Boulder in Longmont. I've also lived in the mountains of Colorado for most of the last 18 years. I've been researching Spokane recently for possible relocation because my wife needs to live at a lower elevation but we both need to be near skiing. Boulder is more of a town than a city but if you like city it is an easy ride to Denver (too close for me), but not at peak traffic hours. Outdoor recreation and healthy lifestyles are big in Boulder and appear to be pretty big in Spokane. Boulder is kind of uppity about those things. I think the comment about CU in Boulder is right on. Cost of living is much higher in Boulder, especially housing.
