Default Spokane Dog Parks?

Hi everyone, just wondering if there are any dog parks in the area? I used to live in Western Wa and there was a great dog park in Redmond we went to often, many years ago. I don't live there yet but am hoping to by next summer and would love to get my dogs out to socialize and it is usually fun to chat with the random person here and there. Thanks for any info.

We do have a dog park in Spokane, at the stateline rest area just off of I-90 before entering Idaho.

What a shame, in a city with so many parks and open space available that there isn't yet a park just for our canine friends. A rest stop pet area, that is pretty pathetic. Does anyone know if the city has considered one but had no interest shown?? I'm just so surprised at this.

Default Spokane is building a new Dog Park

The park will be located in High Bridge Park, just west of Downtown Spokane WA. And I heard at the Dog Swim days that it is going to incorporate the river as well as a water feature. No idea when it will be completed, but it should be REALLY nice!

Pets are welcome at other city parks, just not off-leash (although some folks don't follow that rule to a T). I have seen many happy dogs & their owners walking and playing in Manito & Audubon parks. There are tons of dog lovers in Spokane!

Thanks Wendy. Well, I just googled spokane dog parks (why I didn't do it to begin with, don't ask me!, I was on C-D so I blurted out a ?) Sorry. I do see that the dog park that was referred to earlier, is actually quite a decent looking park, it had sounded like it was just an area at a rest stop. They also have a petition to fill out and send in to support future parks. I am still searching out info on the one that is supposed to be north of dt. Thanks to all.

Default Hanna - here is some more info

Spokesman-Review.com -- OK the link doesn't work, but google - spokane new dog park "high bridge" - and click on the first item. It is the SR article on the park plans.

mod note: does this link work?: http://www.spokesmanreview.com/tools....asp?ID=256605

I believe one has to be logged into the Spokesmanreview website for a direct link to work.
