Best Area Of South Hill - Looking To Rent
Hi, relocating to Spokane, want to live in South Hill but don't know the neighborhoods. We need 3+ bed 3+ bath with 2 car garage, prefer something walking distance or short drive to parks/restaurants.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

With the caveats that it all depends on what you're really looking for and budget, some of the nicest south hill areas, IMO, are: Comstock, Manito Park, Cannon Hill, Southgate, Moran Prarie/Browne Mountain, Cliff Park/Roosevelt, Rockwood/Hamblen, upper-west Cannon's Addition, Hart Field/upper-Manito. This is a non-exhaustive list but is hopefully of some help. Most of the South Hill is decent to very nice. If you have more specific questions you can post them here and people will try to point you in the right direction.

I agree with Kena -- it would be easier to tell you whether or not to pursue a location if you give an address you're considering. Zip codes cover large areas and wouldn't necessarily help you rule out a neighborhood.

Ok, thanks for the replies. Will get back to you with specific streets as we narrow down our choices.
We're moving from CA in October.
Thanks

I love the virtual drive by's on google maps. South Hill is lovely. We literally drove all over, too. In the established areas streets are wide with custom homes probably averaging 40-50 years old. All the places that Kena mentioned around the parks looked like great family neighborhoods. Most yards were tidy--the worst thing being out of control pine needles on a roof or something minor like that. I don't think we passed one home that was really scary looking. Most homes in the south valley were like that, too. :~) D

Consider renting a restored historic home while you're looking for a home of your own; I've seen some beautiful ones on South Hill. They're usually in nice neighborhoods, too. That'll give you some time to find the right place.
