Default Moving to Spokane

I am considering moving to spokane, WA from Lewiston, ID. Could someone tell me what side of town is safest to rent for a single woman, close to the bus system, grocery store, shopping.
How is the job market currently in Spokane? I have a BA in Finance with little experience, an AAS in computers, with A+, N+, MCP, and CCNA computer certifications. I would like to get a federal job.
I have been to Spokane sever times to take my computer certification exams as Lewiston, ID is 3 hours away, however, I never took the time to job search while in Spokane.
Thanks

Default here are a few ideas

I would suggesting renting in the shadle park area (near northtown mall) or better yet the lower south hill area. Both are safe and cater pretty well to single individuals.

Fed jobs are everywhere. Here is the online site to apply. If you'd really like to move to Spokane you can pick that location when looking.

ps. you can look online at the classifieds of the spokesman review. The shadle area is listed as well as the south hill or browns addition - to give you an idea of the prices. (sometimes the shadle area is called northwest spokane)

good luck.
