I'll be traveling through Spokane with a group of 10 students. What's the best way to get from the airport to the Amtrak station?

Also, is there anything to do near either place? We have a 5 hour lay-over one way and a 10 hour lay-over the other way.

Check this link for info on shuttle service from Spokane airport...at least it has some contact info.

Spokane International Airport

I think you can safely kill some time downtown...
(I've chaperoned a lot of high school trips over the years out of state, etc....my condolences! Seriously, have fun!)

There isn't much near the airport (unless you want to take everyone to a Casino) but the train station is downtown. It should only take 15 minutes to get from the Airport to downtown. Downtown should keep you occupied for a good portion of your layover.

Depending on the weather, downtown will occupy your time, and the train station is a close walk from the main part of downtown. Riverfront Park and River Park Square mall will probably keep them busy for a few hours. The park is huge and the falls at the river, right in the middle of the park, are beautiful. There is absolutely nothing to do near the airport, and really downtown there aren't many "must see" attractions (i.e. museums or historical sites) besides the park, but it's a nice area to just walk and spend a few hours.
