Has this ever been debated before? If you were going to handicap a season of sports or bet nowadays, would it be better to use the vegas sportsbooks, or use the different online sportbooks available? The way i see it there are pros and cons to both. It seems like nowadays you can find comparable lines and options at both places with a little shopping around. With vegas you can get your payouts right away, with online books you usually have to wait a few days and deal with restrictions on how much you can withdrawal or deposit at one time. It seems like most online books have lower limits on the amount you can bet compared to the casinos too. Anybody have any opinions on which they would prefer and why? Does anyone know any websites or another forum that talks about betting and sports that is legit? I looked around but all i could find were places that seemed like they were paid to advertise certain sportsbooks and try to recruit new members and where the members didn't seem to know much about sports, saying stuff like the pats were going to easily cover against the bills, the texans would beat the cowboys or look for the skins to lay it on the rams, none of which happened yesterday. You can pm me if you don't want to talk in this thread and i will get back to you. Thanks.
I guess something else i'm curious about is why it seems that most guys that are considered to be pros or handicap for a living live in Vegas, at least most of the famous and good ones anyway. There has to be reasons for this. Just trying to figure out what i don't know. Could it be because they all moved there before the internet took off with online books or so the U.S. government dosen't screw with them since sports betting is legal in the state of Nevada but not elsewhere?
First post, if you live in or near vegas, i would place a bet in a sports book 100% of the time over any online betting site. Second post, this of Vegas as the "Holy City" or the religion of gambling. Vegas has the best everything in its casinos when it comes to gambling, and that includes handicappers.
