I'm not into "sea kayaking" but I love sit-on-top kayaking on the lakes and rivers here in western Montana. This past weekend Some neighbors and I took our boats down to the Bitterroot valley to go on a massive party float. There were hundreds of toobers, many canoes, a few rafts and sit-in kayaks. Us three were the only sit-on-top kayakers. I couldn't believe how many of the packed canoes had no PFDs. on board ! The float ended late with a free keg for the floaters, along with a big spread of food for a few $. What a blast to do a river run with such a huge mish-mash of folks. I'm used to paddling with a person or two or just by myself. I did get a few photos of some drunks falling out of canoes !
