I also know that one of the Carolinas has the Hurricanes for the NHL...I'm not sure which one it is...I would suspect North Carolina though. Charlotte also has the Bobcats for the NBA.

Yes, North Carolina has the Canes. Speaking of which, they need to get them out of that state and back to CT.

Due to the recent news, Vegas could have lost its opportunity, and L. A. needs the NFL much less than the NFL needs them. However, the NFL makes alot of money. It's just that, L. A.'s in the driver's seat now with the site for any stadium and the pricetag, which now will NOT be forked over by the taxpayers. Sorry, NFL.

Sorry, but I don't see Las Vegas EVER having a professional sports team. There are so many reasons that won't happen I'm not even going to bother listing them. Take a look at neighboring Phoenix, a similar desert city (once you get off the strip) that is over twice at large as Las Vegas. Phoenix has all four sports, and three relatively new stadiums, built as part of the frenzy of development and construction that has characterized Phoenix as a whole for the last 15 years. On paper, it looks good, but what about reality? Ok, the Phoenix Suns are good. But the Arizona Cardinals are the biggest joke of the NFL. PU Stadium (haha, love to say that ) just ain't a real football field. The Coyotes are the biggest joke of the NHL. I can't understand for the life of me why Phoenix even has a hockey team. Hot deserts are not your ideal football or hockey towns! The Diamondbacks were great their first year, and have disappointed ever since. It would not surprise me if Phoenix ends up losing their football and/or hockey team some time within the next 5 years. So if Phoenix's existing teams can't even win, there is no way Las Vegas could do it.

Doesn't Charlotte only have two teams? The Panthers and Bobcats. Someone earlier in this thread said three.

the next city would be East St. Louis or Compton, Cal.
