We've grown to expect that the host nation will include some of their obscure competitions to add a stamp of provincialism (and sneak in a few more medals) on their games. I'm not finding anything that seems to be added in this regard for London.

Why is there no Stinging Nettles Eating, Bog Snorkeling or Cheese Rolling details being disclosed to us?

Seems like nobody is excited about the Olympic games...the Beijing Olympics were HUGE..everyone was talking about it before, during and after...i've not had one friend or co-worker even bring the London Olympics up...

The Summer games might be the only thing that would prod me into getting satellite TV again, probably won't but have certainly thought about it. I like everything about it though think they drag out the opening ceremonies too long and vow to not watch those but we always do. I'm hoping they include a story or two about bangers and mash as well as thick, dark, creamy beer.
