Okay, this may totally be a local phenomenon...

I used to bowl in a social tenpin bowling league as a junior, and I noticed the majority of girls of either the junior or senior leagues seemed to be well, noticeably overweight. I'd say at least 3/4, to be honest. I always wondered why that was. I know tenpin bowling isn't as physical as say, swimming, tennis or gymnastics, but I found it odd how most of the ladies bowling were clearly not in the best of shape. There were a few of average/medium build and even some very thin ones, but for the most part, their generous girths were clearly evident. Maybe it was because they munched on the deep-fried food from the snack-bar? But then again I didn't see the same among either junior or senior male bowlers. Maybe it's more so the case in Australia, or is it the case where you are too? Not bashing them, just curious as it why this might be.
