I will start off with Russian women's pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva. She is outstanding in her sport and really one of the classiest and down to Earth world class athletes.
As a young child, I found that Mark Spitz was an inspiration. During the Beijing Olympics I liked Michael Phelps as well my cousin Monica Abbott who was a pitcher on the USA softball team. I haven't found anyone that has really inspired me in the London games.
Lolo Jones seems like a pretty emotional / sensitive woman. Lots of things going on under the surface and something to prove after her hurdle clip in Bejing dashed her hopes 4 years ago of getting gold. I'm hoping for the best for her.
Beth Tweddle, zipping around on the unevens like a pre-teen. She finally earned her Olympic medal, and might have won the competition if she hadn't lost her balance on the dismount. I burst into tears right along with her.
It was nice, too, to see an adult in the competition.
Misty and Kerri. The beach volleyball team. They are amazing to watch, such teamwork.
