Default Bolt halts interview to acknowledge US anthem

One thing about the Olympics is that it can show the finest in human spirit. Here is Usain Bolt showing the utmost class and dignity, stopping an interview to stand at attentiob to acknowledge the US anthem while it's being played. I love see this kind of stuff. Very big of Bolt to do that.

Remember when he did this in 2008?: Bolt bares his heart of gold to donate for kids

I might not be remembering correctly, but I think he even treated some of the kids to a Jamaican vacation.

That's why he is so well liked.

Jamaica is going to be partying until fall. Bolt is a cool guy. A sprinter like him comes around every 50 years or so. I wouldn't be surprised if he runs a 9.55 some day.

Bolt is the ultimate rock star of the Olympics, and the greatest world stage, outside of the Olympics, is in the United States (financially)

The man is more than the worlds fastest human being, he is also very savvy and knows how to market himself. That is not meant to diminish his genuine compassion and class as a man and an athlete.

Gotta admit, he is the biggest name in the past two Olympics, the one guy you can't miss competing.

While I agree Bolt is savvy, I don't think his respect for other athletes' national anthems is part of that. He did it again today when the BBC was interviewing him during the Kenyan national anthem for David Rudisha. It's not just for big-name countries like the United States.

Yes the Jamaica team did, but the ignorant interviewer still butted in harrassing them to talk....

Major props to him for respecting a nation not his own. It's always great to see athletes proving they are more than just physical freaks.

He probably regrets it after the US journalist had "a slip of tongue" calling them "the drug team” and Carl Lewis' groundless accusation.

Why do Americans keep accusing high performing athletes from other countries (China, now Jamaica) of cheating just because they were winning? I don't see others accusing American athletes so much when there is absolutely no evidence.
