So now the US Ryder cup team is finalized, what do you think about our chances?

On paper the team looks solid for the US. Lots of experience combined with hot playing younger members like Snedeker, Johnson and Duffner. Was not taking Hunter Mahan a good move? Mahan's current form is not up to its usual top flight status but he is a proven sound match player. He excelled in College at match play and beat Rory as well as some other ryder cupers this year in match play. He was 4-1 in the Presidents up and has a winning Ryder Cup record which is rear for any US experienced players given our appearing over matched against Europe the past decade or so. I believe some thrive on match play and others do not.... I think passing on Hunter despite his recent putting slump is a mistake but hopefully we can pull out a win any way. Simpson, Duffner, Snedeker and Bradley have no ryder track record and appear to be clutch players who get tough when the going is tough. Going to be a great event

I see the Euros throwing up all over their colorful plaid pants and a need for alien bio-hazard ceanup when all is said and done.

Not surprised to see Rory out of the gate, that was pretty much a shoe in.

I feel like Phil/Keegan have very little chance as I see Luke playing well tomorrow and this is what Sergio lives for. And Phil was all over in the practice round I attended Tuesday.

Either way, I'm psyched...USA USA USA

Couple of stories from Tuesday that I saw...

Ian Poulter is a goofy guy. He was having ALOT of fun on the course, we were with his group for four holes, and I think he might have stopped laughing for like 4 minutes total. It was fun to see.

Kudos for Kucher, he was really, really crowd friendly, and even had a couple kids walking with him between holes. He was talking to them, signing autographs etc. He gained points in my book.

Duffner seemed hyper focused for the time we saw him. Wasn't interacting too much w/his teammates for the 3-4 holes I saw him.

Rory is awesome to watch. Such a likable guy, maybe even more so in person to go along with his insane levels of talents. Id love to have a beer with him.

Brian Urlacher was walking with Tigers 4some (last group off, it was him, stricker, Snedeker and Furyk). Naturally that got some reaction from the many of us Chicagoans that were in the crowd.

My own personal highlight was I got to stand front and center and watch phil hit a shot out of the rough. I saw where his ball landed and I sprinted to it. I positioned myself exactly where I knew I could see his swing based on the hole location. The other people that got there must have forgot he was a lefty, as they crowded around the other side of the ball.

Im very close to spending the couple hundo to go sunday. Tickets are on stub hub.... But the wife wants a new fridge this weekend.... She might have to wait!

Last thing, I saw all 12 Euros play #13 (par 3) and only rory stuck it close. Now I realize it was a practice round and they might have been trying some weird things, but Im thinking that hole MIGHT play tough.

a win in the morning by Furyk will move him out of last place for worst win pctg (.370) ever by a US golfer with at least 15 matches and past Stewart Cink's .390, Phil Mickelson at .412 is the 3rd worst ever for a US golfer with at least 15 matches.

best all time win pctg. (min. 15 matches)

1) Arnie (.719)
2) Irwin/Watson (.700)
4) Boros (.688)
5) Trevino/Littler/Garcia (.667)
8) Jack/Olazabal (.661)
10) Monty (.653)
