By popular demand, an thread for ongoing discussion of all rugby related things, World Cup, Heineken Cup, Mid and End of year tests, local clubs, development, you name it.

To get things started: I think that given the fast development of the sport in the US, I think USA rugby should look into trying to have a fully professional top division in time for the 2019 World Cup, possibly a regional rugby type league in partnership with Canada, like a North American Pro 12.

Great results and performances by Glasgow lately. I'm an Edinburgh fan but Glasgow look solid.

Under which rugby code would this league play?

Leinster had a very good win against Scarlets this weekend. The lad Goodman had a good game.

6 Nations wasn't as good a result. Losing to Scotland is rough. France will be out for blood to.

Pleased to hear Goodie played well. He played many years with my fav NZ team the Tasman Makos.
Did he do any goal kicking in the game?

Yeah I think he kicked two penalties but he missed one and a conversion. The lad Madigan kicked 3 conversions.

He has a long range with his goal kicking, but Isn't that accurate at times.

He was/is a solid player in NZ rugby, without having the x factor or qualities that made him a elite player.
Was never in the frame for the All Blacks and even at Super rugby he never really got much of a look in.
Understood why he went offshore.

I like his game for the fact, he always gives everything hes got and he hates losing. If more players gave as much as he does, rugby would be better off. He also brings leadership.

Union, I've never seen anyone playing League in the US.

And as another little "icebreaker", I'd like to hear what positions you guys usually played? In my (extremely) brief career I was a flanker and then a prop.

I was a blindside flanker or lock as a teen and adult.....was a prop as a child. Played for 15 years.
