Birmingham: NBA Team
Oklahoma City: NBA Team
San Antonio: NFL Team
Austin: NBA Team [Although TX is already saturated with NBA teams]
Salt Lake City: MLB Team

Hey, I have an idea! How about a joint Austin-San Antonio NFL team?

San Antonio and Austin are only 1 1/2 hr. away from each other and have so many growing cities on the highway between them [San Marcos, New Braunfels, Schertz].

San Antonio and Austin are both football crazy and are getting tired of supporting the Cowboys.

We need our own team

Hi Hyun-Soo! I might not agree on Austin with an NBA team, but everything else fits.Salt Lake supports their club-no question. I have always thought MLB would do well there; they would need a stadium, though. On Okie City, it is only a matter of when. Austin to San Antonio, what, 2.5 million people maybe?

do you really think Las Vegas is a good choice for a pro team,I just think Las Vegas has too much going on for the people to be going to home games all the time. The city is always busy.I would like to see Albuquerque with a team,we barely have a smaller population than OK City but they are three times the land size than us.If we had that much land size we would be bigger.I would also like to see birmingham with a team and maybe Omaha.

I couldn't agree more. I think a South Texas team would do as good as any. Plenty of population and I won't even mention how popular football is anywhere in Texas.

San Antonio's metro is estimated at 2 million...Austin's metro is estimated at about 1.5 million...so you're looking at 3.5 million there.

i would strongly concur. it's probably too small of a market for the nfl or mlb but it certainly deserves an nba team. but my opinion may be biased, i spent a few yrs in the okc area back in the early 80s "getin rich in the oil fields" and have always had an affection for that area

They DO have a metro pop of about two million and a pretty good following for the Trailblazers. A Portland pro football or baseball team also might benefit from a Seattle rivalry.
hey there you go, now portland would be an excellent choice. could be wrong but i think the portland market has more like 2 1/2 million. i'm less certain about a mlb team, but an nlf team would thrive there. they should have had a team long ago imo

spark240 is on a distinguished road
Obviously you mean a MAJOR league team, since most of these cities have at least one professional minor league franchise. Minor leagues ARE pro.
