what city deserves a pro sports team
What city that dosent have a pro sports team do you think might be the next to gain one.
I know the governor here in New Mexico was trying to lure the NFL to Albuquerque for a possible expansion in the next 5 to 10 years. His idea is that the team would represent the metro areas of Albuquerque,El Paso and Juarez,Mexico and would play home games in those cities.something like that if I remember correctly.I think this is a great idea and something different but I doubt it will ever happen.I know last year the WNBA was interested in Albq if they built a new arena.
I know there are alot of cities that dont have teams that would be capable of supporting one, so Im gonna name some cities and you pick what city you think deserves a pro sports team.

I chose Norfolk, since it is a city of around 400k and it sits right on top of VA Beach which is another 400k. I think they are extremely underserved when it comes to sports teams

OkC. They deserve an NBA team after their showing with the Hornets. Sold out games night after night, and they truly demonstrated they can support a pro basketball franchise.

Las Vegas is agressively looking for a pro-team.
There is a stigma with the sports gambling issue and some organizations like the NFL said the won't come in. The NBA and baseball leagues said they are interested
I believe in the near future Las Vegas will land a pro-team.
The metro area is approaching 2 mil now.

I agree that Boise needs a pro team. The city pop is around two million and growing. You could also try include the surrounding areas by calling them the Northwest something or others. Basically, the Seattle Seahawks have cornered the football market (just like the Mariners in baseball) for a huge portion of the country in the northwest. Another team or two up there would be a good thing.

200,000 maybe. The metro is only 600,000. While I'd like to see some expansion in the almost untapped interior NW, there just aren't any major markets out there yet.
I think the list of cities in the poll is a good one. Almost each could do really well with a certain sport. Norfolk and Louisville would be great basketball towns. Hartford is a great hockey town. Providence would be a nice place to see something, but they're so fricken close to Boston. Albuquerque would be interesting. What sports have the largest following there?
