According to a report from Sports Business Daily, the International Olympic Committee is weighing a proposal to add skateboarding and BMX halfpipe and park as events at the 2020 Games in Tokyo. IOC Sports Director Chris Dubi expects the IOC to recognize the International Skateboarding Federation by the end of the year, which would be a big step towards the sport’s inclusion. While BMX cycling made its debut as an event in 2008, skateboarding and halfpipe events have failed to make the cut, despite the popularity and acceptance of tangential sports such as snowboarding and slopestyle that have thrived at the Winter Olympics.
Also of note from the article is the fact that the IOC is considering adopting sport climbing, which goes contrary to a decision in May when the IOC decided not to adopt the sport.
I hope this is a joke, like your screen name. These X-games events make a mockery of the Olympics. May as well call them the Sports of Wealthy White Westerners...WWW!!! Or the TV games...but I guess they are that already.
They need to reinstate wrestling, at least everyone in the world can compete.

Yeah sports like skateboarding make a mockery of the Olympics which should be limited to highly physical events like table tennis, air pistol shooting, and synchronized swimming.
More laughable medals from Team USA. Talk about dominating "sports" no one else in the world cares about
