YES!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome day for me. Nadal played well most of the match. Djokovic didn't seem to get to his highest level. For some reason, I don't think the loss will affect him as much as last year's RG did. Last year he was much closer and just needs to look to Wimbledon now. Nadal might be able to gain points there too but he has not been impressive on grass in recent years.
What does it take to beat Nadal at French Open? Soderling coming back from retirement?
Nah. Soderling wouldn't win again. The stars aligned for him on that day in 2009 and he played out of his mind. Nadal played poorly as well. I think it was a fluke.
Djokovic was a lot closer to winner the last two French Open than today. What happened?
He could not maintain his intensity beyond about half way through the 2nd Set, when it looked like he had a real chance.
Full credit to Nadal, he did not let him play at that level again and did not let him back into the match once he got into the lead.
I don't think he will spend too much more time pondering over it now though, its straight to the grass.

I don't know. The French Open is a very big deal to Djokovic, just as it was to Federer a few years ago. I still do think he won't be as depressed about it as last year but we are seeing a trend with Djokovic in slam finals now.

Also...glad to see this poll was wrong
He was battling a stomach bug the last 2 matches from what I have read, no excuses though, but it will make him more likely to forget this tournament a bit quicker and move on to the next one/s.
There is still a lot more left for him to achieve on other surfaces yet -considerably more so than Federer.
Agree - he can't afford to keep losing in Major finals as he probably only has a couple of years left now at his peak, unless he can do an Andre Agassi and be still winning Majors at 33- but that is unlikely.
Sooner or later the new brigade will step up to the next level, and the Big 4's dominance will be a thing of the past.
