Brett Hart defeated Mr. Perfect for the Intercontinental Championship which was the beginning of his Super Stardom.
Virgil defeated Ted DiBisase for his Million Dollar Championship
The Legion of Doom defeated The Nasty Boys for the Tag Team Titles
and the Main Event which was a handicap match featuring Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior against Sgt. Slaughter, Col. Mustafa, and General Adnan.
Oh... and who could forget the wedding of Macho Man Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth that was disrupted by Jake The Snake Roberts .... great feud that was.
Plus you had the Bushwhackers, Koko B. Ware, British Bulldog, Big Boss Man, the Mountie, Irwin R. Scheister.... oh and it was Andre The Giant's last ever PPV appearance in his lifetime before he passed away.
Good stuff... brings back great memories.... that pay per view put me over the top as a big wrestling fan as a kid.
Chief J Strongbow, Polish power, Andre the Giant vs the midgets, George the animal Steel eating the turnbuckle. And a couple of guys who had no fancy nick names who lost every match. It was a circus
my earliest memory was the Royal Rumble 2005 when Batista won the title and then Triple H vs Batista at WM21.
I am from the era of Lou Thesz, Vern Gagne, Killer Kowalski, Gene Stanlee.....matches were much longer, and there was an attempt to make them look like it was a contest and not a show.

Yeah I think by the late 80s early 90s they finally realized that going in a direction of more "entertainment" rather than the more traditional styling of wrestling would draw more fans.... and boy it sure has.
I leapt from my basinet at County General Hospital when I was 2 days old and delivered a flying elbow into the throat of the screaming newborn that was next to me.
Wrestling is that High School sport they enjoy in places like Iowa and Nebraska. I think they used to have it in the Olympics before it was replaced by softball or badminton or something like that.
Now Rasslin', THAT'S entertainment!
Used to be every Wednesday night on channel 5. Dick Lane announcing, Bobo Brazil, Mil Mascaras, Freddie Blassie, and all their buddies punching and kicking and gouging their way across a flickering black and white screen. Dayumn!
I think they still have something like it on TV but last time I watched it seemed to be mostly two guys shouting threats at each other over the PA while their girlfriends scowled. Too much like Ferguson, MO for me to enjoy.
My earliest memories are watching those old hour long programs on TV back in the early 1960's, with the matches featuring some jobber against a guy they were pushing for being a main attraction at traveling shows. I recall guys like Edouard Carpentier, Antonio Rocca and Gorilla Monsoon getting a push on tv, making them more attractive for the larger crowds attending shows in person at local arenas.
Usually there were about four or five matches in the hour, with staged interviews between matches helping pump up attendance.
The match my dad took me to, in Philly, had a main card event of Monsoon and Kowalski in a tag team match against Brazil and Sammartino.
