Good call.. ESPN also has an on-going fixation with Tiger Woods. Even when he's been fading for several years.
I appreciate the candor of Stephen A. Smith, but I don't get much from First Take's (guest) round-table of rappers & actors. It highlights to me that ESPN is generally aiming their coverage at an audience that's young, 'urban', and/or stupid..
Yes like Chris Rock on espn first take this week. I have no interest in his thoughts on basketball
Who wants to hear about baseball any time of the year? Let's be honest, lol.
Football is the more nationally appealing sport for TV, no doubt. The World Series dominates the markets of the teams playing in it, but nationally it's not what it was back 30 years ago. But you seem to overlook baseball's power on the regional/local level. Attendance is once again at an all time high (and in the minor leagues, too). Local MLB TV ratings in many markets win their time slots (sorry Houston, you don't count). The apps and how they've developed their streaming products for younger/tech-savvy markets also leads all pro sports. MLB Advanced Media on its own has a valuation of more than $20 billion.
You might want it to go away, but it's not going anywhere.
