I never said I hate the Red Wings. I just listed the most hated teams from what I hear in the general public. That original list is not necessarily teams I hate. As far as my hating teams, it'd be (in alphabetical order):

Boston Celtics
Boston Red Sox
Dallas Cowboys
Los Angeles Lakers
New York Islanders
New York Jets
New York Mets
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Philadelphia 76ers
Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Flyers

I'll stop at 11.

The Detroit red wings are not one of the most hated! Every time they're on the road, there's red and white in the stands. I watched the Red wings play in Boston Saturday night, about 40% of fans had Wings gear on.

You can say that about my beloved Yankees. There are Yankees fans everywhere. But I realize they're a polarizing team - either you love them or hate them. No in between, like say, the KC Chiefs, who most people don't care about one way or another. (Sorry to pick on the Chiefs, but that was my random team for the day.)

Thats part of the reason theyre hated. They infest other stadiums with their obnoxious fans. What really pisses me off is when they feel the need to throw their octopi everywhere. Jeremy Piven summed it up best in his Blackhawks commercial he did a few years back. It goes something like this: "My father used to bring me to Blackhawks games as a kid. I loved it. I loved the comraderie, the electricity of a night in the big city. You know, I learned alot about life from my father watching the Blackhawks play. It can all be summed up in 2 words. 2 simple words that ring over and over in my memory: DETROIT SUCKS! DETROIT SUCKS! Good times!"

'Hate' is a very strong word which gets thrown around far too often these days however I reserve it for one team and one team only. The New England Patriots.
