I often see a pretty close spread between Place & Show in these prohibitive favorites during the big races as everybody else is chasing exotics and value elsewhere
I had Nyquist across and hubby had Exaggerator across: I also had $2 to show on Cherry Wine: wish I had bet him to place. Still it was a fun race, love the idea that the jockey and trainer are bros. Obviously Exaggerator runs well on a sloppy track. I have to laugh, our daughter and son in law are big betters, especially our sil. Called us after the race and asked how we did? I told her, we won a total of $3.00. How much did sil win? About $200 plus. They make fun of us, but we enjoy our little winnings as much as they do their big winnings.
Congratulations to Exaggerator! But I will not congratulate his jock or trainer. Keith Desormeaux showed very poor sportsmanship in the week leading up to the race. And, well, I don't like Kent. I half expected him to give up halfway through the race. IMO had he been further back, he would have.
Nyquist and/or his jock were definitely off. I think the slop had something to do with it.
Very happy for Cherry Wine! Had I made picks this race, I would have cashed in with him!

Maybe Nyquist should have let Uncle Lino run ahead instead of going with him.
We had 4 $1 tri's and 2 $1 supers with Nyquist on top of 3 of them and Exaggerator the other 3. Then $10 to win on Exaggerator which paid net $26. And Nyquist to win for $15. Total $5. So a non event. All our non straights had Fellowship and Uncle Lino and Stradiveri mixed in. Never saw two of them cross the finish line.
We were able to get Exaggerator in the Belmont at 7-5. Now 11-10.
This particular source has:
Cherry Wine 6-1
Suddenbreakingnews 6-1
Governor Malibu 8-1
Stradivari 10-1
Unified 10-1
Destin 12-1
Brody's Cause 15-1 (Brody has beaten Exaggerator two times)
Creator 18-1
Lani 18-1
Adventist 20-1
It's All Relevant 22-1
Wild About Deb 25-1
Forever dOro 30-1
Seeking The Soul 35-1
Some are confirmed for the race and others are possible entrants.
I just have no idea who to take; will do some serious studying this morning: of course hubby takes it more seriously than I do and really researches. Does he do better than me? Not as a rule. I sorta like Cherry Wine, but otherwise, don't know. He says it will, most likely be a horse that we were not expecting to do that well.
An ole friend who was so reliable in 2015, came through in the Met. Mile.
Frosted $8 across. We'll let that $31 go with some long shots in the Belmont and some exotics with Exaggerator. Good luck to all.
