If you were a coach in Little League (11-12 year olds) would you still have your kids stealing if you were winning 14-0 and it was the top of the 6th in a 6 inning game? Do you think sportsmanship comes into play or should you just keep playing the same way?

I know in MLB if they did that the next guy up would get a pitch in the back, but what about Little League?

Do they have the mercy rule in the league? I would probably like the other team to go all out on my team. If it's 14-0 in the 6th, the losing team has shown the ability to get the other team out so what's the worst that can happen...20-0? As a player, I like knowing that if there is anything I did well, it was with the other team doing their best.

I did coach... no I would not call a steal. If it's a passed ball, you make the right play and take the base.

I'd agree with this. No need to steal. Not necessarily because it looks bad, but because it is an unnecessary injury risk to be taking with a 14 run lead.

Good point and kids need to learn when to let things go. There is no reason to rub it in with a score like that. Just get the game over and look forward to the next game. Teach kids some humility. I doubt when our sone was playing and hubby coached they would ever try and rub it in. In face, our son, a good to very good pitcher was often pulled by his dad to allow other kids a chance when the game was very one sided.
