Just freak weather really caused by a big La-Nina. Sydney just recorded its Rainiest October in 165 years, and most of Victoria had more rain than at any time in its recorded history.
Australia as a whole just recorded its second wettest month (Overall just not October) in its 122 years as a nation. Basically there is a 3500km (2200 mile) line of storms drenching Australia today, its unheard of in Australia really.
Would have loved to have seen India and Pakistan in the final, nothing against the English, it would have just created a great atmosphere.
