NBC is broken. The winter games require a guarantee of ice and snow, which can be made, but the energy cost may be too high, and that still requires cold weather for the outdoor events. Global warming will eventually make everywhere too warm.

Point being, it's npt their main language. My mom's cousin doesn't speak Engliah at all; when she came ober to the States for a family wedding, het husband had to translate for her.

I feel the 800 lb gorilla in the room is all the doping that was done by Russia and the lack of repercussions when it was uncovered.

Tbh I quite enjoyed these current winter Olympics, in the limited time I had.
There has been plenty of dirt in Olympics in the past, life goes on, Olympics remain great fun.

As to costs, if countries are stupid and corrupt enough to spend so much money on the Olympics then they would've found some other way to waste that money anyway. It's not an Olympics problem, it's a problem within countries. They would've lost that money silently, now they did it openly for all the world to see, maybe that awareness and attention will help fix some of those internal problems in the long run.

I've never met a Norwegian who didn't speak perfect English. But I don't doubt there are some, like there are many people in the US or UK who don't speak English.

I think the Olympics are fine. I think NBC's coverage is awful.

Their coverage on NBC Sports Network has been excellent. I've watched more skating this Olympics than before I had this channel, and I am looking forward to watching live coverage of the men's Nordic 50K mass start at midnight tonight.
