Default Belmont?

Is anyone here going to watch today besides me?

I'll be heading to Laurel Park (in MD) after work.

Despite his somewhat sprinter bloodlines which does concern me, I think War Of Will is the horse to beat and is my top selection.

Tacitus is my 2nd choice.

I hate chalk. Undecided how I'm going to approach this. Leaning win bet (and perhaps a triple key) on my top choice and small exacta boxes with my second choice for back up insurance.

I think one of those win. Not confident with a somewhat large exacta box which is likely to pay only $14.00 if it hits...

At least a chance that if War Of Will wasn't interfered with in the Derby we may be seeing him go for the Triple Crown today.

I can't believe his current odds is 9-2, unless I read something wrong. He's getting no respect...

I'm looking forward to seeing the race. If he wins today I clean up. Doubt I'm changing my mind...

The Oritz brothers are my #1 go to Jockey's as I have previously posted....and with Irad getting the ride on Tax I decided to make Tax my betting horse......I was looking for value along with the best return so instead of playing exacta's or Tri's I placed Tax across the board due to his double digit odds....$ 20 to Win and Place and $ 50 to show...

Then I am thinking what if he gets out but fades and comes in 4th....I did not want to bet much on this race so I decided on playing a couple of 10 cent supers using Jose and Tacitus first, second and third using all with Tax 4 th...each super ticket like that cost only $5.60 and they were like this

10/ALL/All/4 $5.60
ALL/10/ALL/4 $5.60 This was my winning super ticket which was 7-10-1-4 and Paid $1,042.80 for a dime
All/All/10/4 $5.60

I wasn't sold on Tacitus winning and if Tax did come in 4th I felt the value would be a bomb winning but Tacitus would for sure hit the board which he did by coming in 2nd...so a longshot wins, the huge favorite Tacitus came in 2nd and than a bomb ( the 1 horse ) comes in 3rd and my man Irad barely held on to get 4th which made me a very nice winner for the Belmont....cashing $1,042.80 on a dime super is superb and my using Tacitus not only on top but also 2nd and 3rd with all and with Tax 4 th made my day...

I had made a couple of other small bets which made my total amount wagered on the Belmont $119.80 and I won on that 10 cent super which paid $ 1,042.80...very pleased how I structured my small bets since I didn't want to bet much over $100.00

So even though my key horse #4 TAX ran off the board he did hold on for 4th and his brother Jose on Tacitus did me right on my dime super tickets by hitting 2nd....Thank you Jose and Irad !

Here's a screenshot of the payoffs and of my wagers.

Well one of my insurance bets hit.

However I fell short of breaking even but at least it wasn't a total loss.

I just got home and have yet to see a replay of the race. War Of Will looked confused coming down the stretch thanks to jockey Gaffalione who I thought gave him a crappy ride. Also, he's usually closer to the pace...

But congratulations to Sir Winston and his camp. There was my long shot I should have paid more attention to....

Well I did have him: $5 across so I did ok. Thank you Sir Winston. The interesting thing, it was strictly a hunch bed: We had a wonderful English Springer Spaniel that went to doggy heaven a few years ago. Seems like a no brainer to me. Hubby had Ticacus across with Sir Winston to show, plus we had a couple other winners yesterday: Good day for us: love to bet but don't bet big bucks.
