Plain enough, in black and white, the caddie and Kuchar had a deal. Caddie got greedy and went to social media to put pressure on. Kuchar caves! Thoughts?????
Kuchar was being a cheap jerk and got called out. No pro would do this or put up with non-sense after winning 1.2million. He should give him 10% and move on. Kuchar was clearly wrong, agreement or not, and knew it.

I agree with you in theory, but didn't it say that Kuchar and the caddie had an agreement about money prior to the tournament?

Yes apparently they did but Kushar still should have known better. Pay the man the usual caddy amount and everyone is happy. Kushar is a very rich man and that was a very cheap move. It seems fellow touring pros let him know that was a bad move.

At first thought I agree. A deal is a deal.
But was the "deal" fair? Are the included amounts typical for a PGA Tour Pro and their caddie? Was Ortiz able to understand that the situation was a lot different that the typical weekend at the club?
Kuchar should have been happy with the win, and coughed up $50 grand right away, or perhaps gone with whatever is typical. The "expense" is tax deductible to Matt, so we are really talking peanuts compared to his winnings that weekend. Why not just go on record as doing a generous thing, getting some great press for himself and his sponsors, and move on?
I wonder what Matt was thinking? Did he have a brain fart or something where he just didn't get into the moment of what was happening? It is too late now to correct the wrong, but dropping the caddie an extra $45 G's would help, to be certain.
