interesting you bring up the last two years. Djokovic won last year. strange Australia allowed Novak in last year but wont let him in this year. they have lost their minds down under.

Its not that Djokovic wasn't allowed to enter the tournament, its that Djokovic wasn't allowed to stay in the country.
Think about that, he's so unworthy of winning the AO, that he wasn't even allowed to stay in the country of Australia.

Whereas Nadal is considered extremely unlucky to have missed 8 slams, and was very worthy of winning some of those.
Djokovic is simply not worthy, because it makes no sense for him to be the only unvaccinated player in the AO, when so many players only got the vaccine so they could play the AO.

And as disappointing as it is for Djokovic's fan base, they'll never be able to prove that Djokovic would have won the 2022 AO or 2022 French Open etc., and I can't imagine Wimbledon welcoming him back either....

The reason why Australia allowed Djokovic in last year, is because the vaccine hadn't become a factor yet, so nobody was expected to be vaccinated.
Whereas now 92.6% of Australians (over age 16) are double-vaccinated, so there is no excuse for a tennis player to be unvaccinated, because the rules are for everybody involved.
All the spectators are vaccinated and therefore all the players are too.
And Djokovic chose not to be in the tournament when he refused to make the sacrifice that nearly all other players made.

The title of this thread should be "The Djokovic thread." Seriously guys, there's more to discuss around tennis other than that doofus, Djokovic.

I think it's very possible Novak will fake vaccination in order to play in future tournaments that require it. I strongly suspect he is lying about testing positive for covid in December.

Looking forward to watching Tsitsipas, Alcaraz, Berrettini, Schwartzman, Sakkari, and Sabalenka!

There have been some amazing first round matches so far in the AO. So we're really going to dwell on Djokovic's absence and not discuss some of the amazing games that have happened these past couple of days??

The hot topic would be discussing tennis games; not wasting time whining because the #1 male tennis player isn't in the tournament.
