I am just counting down the days until 08.08.08! I can't believe the Olympics are already here! I love the gymnastics and swimming and track/field, all of it! I had this link for this documentary trailer called Let it Out and it is just so touching and emotional. This video really depicts the true honor and happiness atheletes get while at the Olympics. Take a look!

I can't wait for the opening ceremonies!!!! I'm dying to find out what the cauldron is going to look like and how it's going to light up the whole festivities!!! Always THE closely gaurded secret of the Olympic games.
I'll admit I'm beginning to look forward a bit to some events. Unfortunately, I probably won't get to see the main sport I'm interested in seeing: team handball. The US doesn't have a horse in the race this time around after US Handball lost its affiliation with USOC. We'd have sucked anyway.
I'd actually like to see the US basketball team get taken down a notch and I expect to see it happen.

How did you take an interest in following US Handball? Did you play?

I thought very seriously about it after the '04 Olympics and began to follow a few of the things going on in the US handball world. Never bothered to actually play because the sport only seemed to be "popular" in 2 or 3 cities and I just didn't feel like trying to start my own group.
Wait a minute! I know the opening ceremonies are tomorrow (right?) but there seems to be an Olympic Soccer game on right now between South Korea and Cameroon. What gives?

They have been doing this for the past Olympics of yore. scheduling issues. 16 days is not enough to cram all events. but 16 days is the tradition after the 1928 games in Amsterdam.
