Why would they move to Charlotte? The Hurricanes in Raleigh average 17,500 (which is the capacity of Charlotte's new arena).Charlotte struggled to support the Hornets when they were in the playoffs. Where are your from?

Oklahoma City proved it can support NBA B-ball.I haven't seen Salt Lake City posted-they are a great NBA draw. I think baseball could work there. Population from Ogden to Provo is around 1.5 Mil. or so. Will need a stadium, though.

I think Raleigh does a better job supporting the 'Canes than Charlotte would. LOTS of transplants there from the Northeast and Midwest who have been in NC long enough to root for Carolina (or go see their hometown teams, which is still a ticket sold...). I've been to 3 or 4 Hurricanes games and they were all packed and rowdy. I don't know if Charlotte could quite offer that.
Also, how about an MLB team SOMEWHERE in the Southeast besides Atlanta? (I know there are teams in Florida, but most southerners don't consider that 'the south'). Carolina League ball is huge in NC and SC, and current pro sports teams draw pretty good crowds.
Maybe the Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill)? Charlotte? Perhaps another MLB team over in Birmingham and several teams up in VA Beach? It's the largest city in VA, and is right next to Norfolk and around an hour-and-a-half to two hours from Richmond. Give em baseball and basketball, eh?

i would love to see a football team in San Antonio...that would bring more national spotlight...team would allow for more big business and more tourism..and the location of SA allow vistitors from deep south Texas to come along an join in the sport activities.

Our colleges are okay, Did you see VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) beat Duke in College Basketball! I don't like the Skins or the Nationals, but If I had a Richmond Pro team I would fully support them and it would be great for the city. Richmond, VA is more deserving than any city I can think of. We are between the mountains and the beach and would have a huge fan base. GO RICHMOND!!!!

Richmond having a Pro team is delusional, and here is why; the city govt. here are so bass ackwards that they can't even handle a farm team. The downtown area would have a tough time drawing people into it, for it needs to clean itself up first. VA will never have a pro team because of the surrounding teams won't allow it, and the cities and counties don't get along with each other, causing the inner cities to struggle with funds. It just isn't going to happen here, just another reason I'm moving back to Charlotte.

My list:
1) New Haven - Football, the Patriots need to stop being slick and claim Foxboro and not an entire region. College teams don't even do that. New Haven has a more promising future than Hartford IMO.
2)Richmond - Any Sport, Nobody in Carolina major sports does anything of substance and their is really no relation between DC and Richmond. City on the rise.
3) St Louis - Basketball. They do well in every other sport
4) New Jersey - Football. I think New Jersey can carry their own weight. I actually think it is disrepectful that they have Two New York teams playing there and none of them claim jersey.
5) Vegas. Will never happen, but I don't have to explain why I like vegas.

San Jose, CA. This place needs it desperately as the home of Silicon Valley.
NBA, NFL, MLB. The city needs this to "grow up."

OKC Sonics. I cant believe that many really believed that it wouldnt happen. Research....Research....OKC has SERIOUS FANS for ALL sports. OKC has become a showcase city that many larger cities are trying to duplicate.

Sonics will never move to the country - OKC. I believe they will stay in Seattle

Do you mean OKC is an actually Country? We ARE considered the Sooner nation.lol. If you were up to date you would know that this has left the Washington state courts and has gone federal which of course is neutral ground. That the original contract doesnt involve a renovated key arena and that it says a NEW ARENA worth half a billion. That your city leaders are a joke and have fumbled the ball or should I say turned it over. That 75% or more of the citizens in sheattle are opposed to supporting the team with public taxes. And more than 40% could care less about keeping them even with private money!! That the deadline is Oct. 31st and bennett has already filed to relocate and to the city of OKC. That the sonics are actually located in OKC because that is where the ownership is! That no plans are even on the table for Seattle and it is what? Oct. 15th!! That Seattle has provided too much money to keep the mariners and seahawks. That seattle really is a market that can only handle two pro franchises and would prefer sipping on Starbucks coffee to basketball.
I will say this. Believe it or not. I would like to see a 40 year old team stay in Seattle. I have always loved the Seattle area and am quite familiar with it. I would much rather have a team with less baggage than the Sonics. OKC will get a NBA team in due time...So I dont mind waiting at all. Only the best to Seattle if they can find some way to keep them. But it doesnt look good. A Fed court will be looking over a contract that Seattle signed that was screwed up for the city in the first place. Bennett was a smart man in making it very difficult for Seattle to have any leverage. Seattle right now is really just trying to hold him to the agreement to pay for key arenas money loss. It will cost Bennett less money to buy out the contract than pay to relocate. Believe it or not but the OKC market is primed and ready to take on a team. OKC even recently rejected the NHL because it wants the NBA. Good luck to seattle...These days I wouldnt be surprized if an alien emerged out of the Grand Canyon. So you never know...Keep you fingers crossed my freind.....
