Although, if Tucson is too far-fetched to consider any major league sports team then I would strongly consider these for ANY sport:
Nashville, TN
Providence, RI
Oklahoma City, OK
Austin, TX
Las Vegas, NV
El Paso, TX - McAllen, TX - Fresno, CA are also honorable mentions, but I believe that Tucson would be more qualified than Albuquerque considering the statistics.

Nashville has the Titans in the NFL, the Predators in the NHL, and the Kats in Arena Football... so I don't think they'll be begging for another team anytime soon.
Providence and El Paso just don't seem like real sports cities to me.
I know OKC would LOVE to keep the Hornets. And Vegas would LOVE to have the NBA come to stay in their town, but due to ( ahem) a certain "whistle blower" who bet on games, something tells me the NBA wont be comming back.
Austin is mainly a college town and they could probably care less about pro sports. They only have... the Austin Wranglers in the AFL vs. the Texas Longhorns football, basketball, and baseball. Who wins there?

Clearly Vegas, a NBA team at Mandalay Bay would be a great attraction.

A sports team in Vegas would either be flush or bust, pun intended. You see, the market is huge, so they would sell tickets very well. Just look at the shows in Vegas, there's so many people there at any one time, it's impossible to not sell out. On the contrary, when I think of Vegas, I think tourists, not a very large residential population. This being said, I think a Vegas team might have some difficulty developing a fanbase.
Another suggestion I would bet the ranch on would be Fargo, ND. Just think about it, the Fargo Crappyweathers. Hhahaha. But being serious now, I'm not sure what city I would put it in exactly, but Alabama doesn't have a pro sports team. Perhaps Birmingham? I can't really see why Texas would need another, you've got 2 NFL, 2 MLB, and 3 NBA. I'm not sure if there's a large hockey market in Texas. But c'mon, I know Texas is big, but you've got so many to chose from already.

WallStreetWarrior, you know I second that notion about Birmingham being another candidate for a sports team. That Fargo,ND crack was hilarious, lol. I'm sure there are many that would agree that right now Fargo doesn't have much. Although, I was reading that they in fact do have an NBA Development League Team which was extremely surprising.
JJG, you are right. I was unaware that the Titans were located in Nashville. Haha, in my ignorance I just assumed that Memphis owned the Titans. I don't follow NHL much so I wouldn't have known of the Predators, but it is a definate plus that they have an Arena Football Team.
This sort of bothers me. I THINK ARENA FOOTBALL AND THE NBA D-LEAGUE NEED TO STEP UP AND SEARCH FOR OTHER MEDIUM SIZED CITIES WHO ARE LESS FORTUNATE SO OTHER CITIES CAN FOCUS ON ECONOMIC AND URBAN GROWTH.

I think it has been obviously stated by BlackVelvet that LAS VEGAS is hands down Overly Qualified to have an NBA Team support their city. I'm convinced that LAS VEGAS wins. The second runner up would be Oklahoma City, OK. The NBA cannot deny this city for being a great host to the Hornets. They have recognition and now deserve a Team.

Memphis DID have Titans, but they were only there for one or two seasons. I guess Memphis is more of a basketball town... I don't know.
Oklahoma City will have an NBA francise sooner or later, I'm sure.
Oh and I have to ask (and this is starting to bug me a little). Why is it that you guys think Texas has enough teams? That I don't understand because Texas is the second most populated state in the country, we have like 6 cities in the top 25 largest cities in America list, and (I don't have to mention this, but...) besides Dallas and Fort Worth, every major city in Texas is AT LEAST 150 miles away from each other. For a state with as many people as ours, we only have 2 MLB teams, 1 NHL team (hockey is bigger than you think down here), and (as of just 5 years ago) 2 NFL teams... and this is a football state!
So someone please explain to me why Texas shouldn't have more pro sports teams?

CT should have a pro sports team
CT would be a great place to have a sports team. The ESPN headquarters is loacted in bristol,CT. So games of the pro team would be on ESPN getting national coverage and great revnue. Also we have some great large cities that could support a team, Hartford,Newhaven,Bridgeport or New London. We have the largest casino in the world in CT which is Foxwoods and we have another Known Casino Moghean Sun. So Ct having sports team would get alot of attendance and alot of money. We should get an NBA team cause your not going to find alot of Celtics or Knicks fans here. Also NFL team would be good because alot of people hate the Patriots so they like either Jets or Giants which is all the way in New Jersey.

I know its not one of the major four pro sports, but MLS would be perfect for Raleigh. In the Fall and Winter the area has to fill two 60,0000 plus football stadiums (N.C State, UNC) and another 60,000 for basketball (including Duke). The area gets about 100 new people a day and needs a summer venue. We also have a rapidly growing latino population. Maybe MLB would fit the bill in 7-10 years, but MLS would be perfect right now.
Top Cities for new pro sports teams
1. Austin
2. SE Virginia
3.OKC (Sonics look likely)
3.Triad (winston-salem/greensboro)
4. Louisville
5. Vegas - maybe
