After this week's comments by the new Sonics #2 owner, I'd say OKC is odds-on to get an NBA team soon.

The way that's going, would Seattle ever end up getting the NBA back if (now looking more like when) the Sonics do move?

I really can't imagine Seattle being out of an NBA team for very long - it has too large of a population (and just as important, a large affluent population) to not have a franchise. Any other teams that are prime candidates to move (i.e. Grizzlies) would have Seattle near the top of the list.

But they're wanting to move out of Seattle because they won't build them a new arena, right?
Are they gonna do this for the next team that comes up?

Nhl
Hamilton, Ontario.
THey have a good sized arena, fans will flock to it, and the Canadian dollar isn't as devalued as it was when theCanadian teams had to go to the US in the80's/90's.

I cannot see the Maple Leafs voting for a team in Hamilton any time in the near future. Despite the population and ability to support another NHL team in southern Ontario, the Leafs have a strangle hold on that market and will not take too kindly to another team taking away possible fans and, above all, profits. I have a sneaking suspicion, regardless what has been said, the Leafs along with Bettman, killed the deal between Leipold (Predators owner) and Jim Balsillie.

If Canada picks up an NHL team it will probably go to Quebec, maybe Winnipeg. Hamilton is indeed too close to Toronto and it's likely the Red Wings and Sabres wouldn't be too keen on a team in Hamilton.

Stern wont make a second try for a long time. The market is huge.....but you gotta gotta have serious sport fans that deliver attendance. They would rather sip on Starbucks bad coffee that has spread like a virus all over the country.
OKC Sonics. I cant believe that many really believed that it wouldnt happen. Research....Research....OKC has SERIOUS FANS for ALL sports. OKC has become a showcase city that many larger cities are trying to duplicate.

They are in Raleigh, but they may move to CLT in the near future. The new Bobcats Arena was built with NHL in mind as well. I think it is inevitable.
