Flag in rule should, if people do it, speed up the game a bit. Could be an issue on blind greens and hitting into groups. 'Flag's in, hit!' Ha

The caddie rule doesn't matter to normal folks but glad they got rid of caddies lining up players. Too much caddie intervention now. Time to take them out of the game again.

fixing spike marks, 3 minute lost ball, and penalty area rules are what I'm liking. The flag rule is good in that it removes an unnecessary restriction in the first place.

However, I don't see it as a timesaver in the grand scheme of things. If you think about it, pulling a flag is a 2 second task - so 4 seconds a hole.. you've saved a bit over a minute for the round - assuming every pull was dedicated. In most cases I'm pulling the flag while you're lining up your putt. So it's not like it actually saved any time on the round.

Johnny Miller’s final broadcast as golf analyst this week. He was the best, imho. Best of luck in retirement, Johnny.

His 63 at the US Open at Oakmont was one of the greatest rounds ever played only six other players even broke par that day and he made up 6 strokes and passed Palmer, Nicklaus, Player and Trevino to win.

I wonder, with the Player's Championship moving to March this year, will there be a Pink Out on Sunday now that it is no longer on Mother's Day? Interestingly this year the Sunday round will be on St. Patrick's Day, so will there be a Green Out instead?
