I did catch the last 4 holes. Nice up/down by Noh on the 17th. Other than that, I actually spent more time watching the Swinging Skirts Classic. That seemed to be a better tournament this weekend.
watched last three or four holes of the Swinging Skirts......seemed like all the players were hitting drivers then wedges, at least on the last few holes......do they need to lengthen womens' courses to give them a challenge? Last LPGA event I went to about a decade ago, seemed like they were playing on 340-400 yd par 4s.......that's what we hackers play on. And with golf balls, club technology improving yearly.....the girls need to be challenged a little more, imo.

I believe the ladies play around 6500's. Is it too short? I guess that's debatable. I don't think Ko or Lewis are exactly bombers that simply over powered the course.
Personally, yardage is just one aspect. You still have elevation, layout, green protection etc. Merion is a great example at last years US Open. Everyone was talking about how short the course was. But the winning score was still +1. Another is #10 at Riviera. Short enough to drive. But if you miss the green, you're screwed.
Headed to TPC Sawgrass for a few days - fifth year in a row. Looking forward to walking the course, seeing a lot of golfers, and enjoying myself out there. It is becoming an annual pilgrimage for me since I never can get a Masters' practice round ticket anymore. Planning on a round of golf at the World Golf Hall of Fame course (King and Bear) while there.
Good stuff BucFan! there are a few courses around here in Wisconsin that have tried to re-create the famous Island Hole. Which is fun to see how we amateurs would play it but of course none of them have the slope towards the water like #17 has.
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Justin Rose confirmed to PGATOUR.COM Sunday morning that the two-stroke penalty issued to him following the third round of THE PLAYERS Championship was rescinded about an hour before his 12:35 p.m. ET tee time.
I think the new rule about digital media not being used to penalize players (naked eye rule) is good. I thought I saw the ball move when NBC zoomed x100 on the ball. Didn't really affect final outcome as Rose has bogeyed a lot of holes in the backnine.
I lived in Germany for 20+ yrs, so happy to see Kaymer doing well. I think Speith will get his chances in the years to come. Kaymer has really come back from the doldrums after being #1 in the world for a very short while. He's a very intelligent person - impressed with his english in interviews.
