didn't think the US would make it close on the last day - nice effort....pretty much anti-climatic, though....normally I get hyped over the Ryder Cup, but this one was kind of dull other than a couple of hole-outs (Tiger), and a nice clutch putt (Fowler).

Too bad you missed watching the event you might have noticed Woods had a 3-1-0 record and led the US in scoring. Lefty on the other hand spent the first 3 days throwing up on himself while missing short putt after short putt going 1-3-0 to continue his dismal Ryder Cup record.

War on the Shore had a classic choke. Mark Calcavecchia had Monty dormie 4 up, but ended up choking his way to a half point. Another classic choke was Norman's losing the 1996 Masters to Faldo. I think a choke is usually when a player has ...the lead and squanders the opportunity through bad play on his part due to nerves (not good play on the opponent's part). Sure Faldo put the pressure on Norman, but if Normal held his own, he'd have won. Since Hunter never had the lead to choke, and McDowell just outplayed him. Hunter didn't CHOKE.

Why wasn't Tiger an anchor on singles day if he was so on top of his game? He's used to handling the pressure that Hunter obviously wasn't. And he and Sticker got their azzes handed to them 6&5 - worst score in Ryder Cup history?

wrong...check your facts before you guess, and the guy he played with is Stricker not Sticker.

On the last day when you are trying to make a comeback you put your best players out early because you want to establish momemtum. If they don't win a lot of those early matches, the last ones wouldn't have mattered anyways. Fact is, on the last day, Woods got the job done and Mahan did not. No one on the US Team had more points than Woods and his partner was the only one who had as many. Meanwhile Mickelson sets the record for most losses in Ryder Cup history with 17! Lefty should stay home next time and give the US a better chance of winning.

Not enough posters and thread topics to need a golf forum, imo.
