Default How popular is tennis in your area?

This question is just out of curiosity, and I thought it would be a ineresting thread for avid tennis players like me. So, how popular is tennis in your area?
Here in West Texas (Lubbock), it is quite popular- a 7.5 on a scale of 1-10. It is by far the most popular recreational sport, but it does not get very much publicity. Most courts, whether public or at a country club, are occupied most of the weekend. During the warm months, there is a tournament almost every weekend.
