Just curious to know how many "minor league" sports teams are in you city? I'm talking AHL as compared to NHL. NBA-Developmental as compared to NBA, Arena Football, Lacrosse, Soccer (especially USL as compared to MLS) etc.
Rochester, New York is the one place I can think of with the most.
Compared to the typical "major" leagues, both professional lax leagues, MLL and NLL, are both pretty minor. But yeah, in the real practical definition, both are the top of the line competition for lax players so they should not be considered "minor." (Even though most of the players hold down regular day jobs to pay the bills!)
I have the Springfield Falcons in the AHL, but Hartford and Worcester are also within distance to go watch (AHL too). Holyoke has a minor league baseball team.

They are "niche sports" but not "minor league." There is no level above them.
Yes, there a lot of sport leagues we don't have here so maybe I could be a little more clear on what I meant by "minor league". Basically, all I mean are leagues other than the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB.
Buffalo Bisons here in Buffalo. we are in part the Mets now
