Default Best Sports City/Area/Region

Alot will argue (especially in the Northeast and Midwest) that their town or region has the best in sports. Best fans. Best teams. When it comes to passion for the game, who has it?
Is it Chicago? Is it Boston? New York, Atlanta, Detroit, Miami? Or could it be a whole state?
I live in the DFW Metroplex (Go Cowboys, Go Mavs, Go Stars, Go Desparados, Go Frogs....), and you would think that would vote for my own area, but I believe that Chi-town is the best sports town. They seem more passionate for all their sports teams... even the soccer team. They also seem like they're the most loyal.
Can you argue with fans who had their own sketch on SNL? I don't think you can.

Toss-up between St. Louis & Chicago.

FWIW, some years back, one of the sports magazines polled all the MLB managers, players and what have you, for best fans in their opinions & experiences. Think SL Cards fans actually topped the list, followed closely by Cubbies. Didn't surprise me that my city wasn't up top

(Grew up attending many games in Philly, and have been to Wrigley.)

Something I should have mentioned before... this poll depends on:

-Number of Major sports teams (including NASCAR tracks)
-Number of major sporting events the city/area held (including the Olympics)
-Fan Support
-College sports atmosphere
-Championship teams in the area

If your city doesn't have at least one of those, don't even think of voting for it. Oh wait, that's right....I can't tell you how to vote .

Sports aren't very big here in Virginia. Except, for NASCAR. If you consider that a sport......

Another vote for Detroit! As a Michigan native I am a huge Pistons fan.

But my basbeall team is the New York Yankees! I am a Midwest trader you could say. Some of the best sports game I have been to is a Yankees/Red Sox game... and we won all of them of coarse I have even sat in the stands in Comerica Park in Detroit with my Yankees hat on. I should be ashamed I know.

What's to be ashamed of? Your only a fan of the most hated pro sports team in the world.

Denver-- as soon as you get off the plane you know you are in Broncos country! Nuggets and Avalanche, both exciting teams. Rockies, though-- we could do without.

New York Yankees have the best fans in the world! I am always amazed at how many games they sell out. I have never been to a home game at the best stadium ever that has not been sold out. Last summer on a Thursday night in July playing the Indians. Nothing special. Sold out! I looked in the paper the next day and no one else compared in attendance. LA had 20,000 Chicago around 12,000 and Detroit around 8,000. Bronx had all 50,300 seats filled.

I would fill a seat there anyday to see Jorge Posada, A-Rod or Tino Martinez run around the bases. If only regular guys had half the body they did.

I would hate to be a fan of such awful teams like Kansas City or Florida. You never win, never have all star plays.. why bother. No wonder they are the cheapest tickets in baseball.

The Yankees are probably the best thing to happen to New York sports... even though the fans do seem more demanding than the average sports fan.
Kansas City has the Chiefs and Florida has several others they're woried about. Just like here in DFW, the Rangers are always an after thought... but that's because we have the Cowboys.

Oh, and I forgot Denver. I should have added Rocky Mountain region instead of just Arizona/New Mexico.
