Le Tour. Lance Armstrong v.37.7
The Tour de France kicks off on Saturday. How will the 37 year old 7 time Tour champion Lance Armstrong do?
There are a lot of non-chumps in the this years field.

Armstrong looked sort of... dare I say it... irrelevant this morning in the first-stage time trial.
(Of course, he was sent off uncharacteristically early)

Irrelevant at :22 seconds slower than Tour favorite and teammate Alberto Contador? I should be so irrelevant!

I never thought I would get to see Lance race. I got into watching the tour de france the year after he retired.
I am hoping to see the Lance of Old times

I know squat about cycling but doesnt lance always pull away in the mountains or something, in the later stages?

Well historically, Armstrong was a major player in the individual time trial which is a ball buster of a race, just you against that clock all out all the time. But he was also a superb climber so in the past Armstrong would enter the mountain stages leading or only the slightest bit behind the other general classification riders (non specialist who are in the race to win) where he would then proceed to bury the competition or at least establish enough of a lead going into the final individual time trial.
