Default Lakers vs. Dodgers

In LA, which team is more popular? Or is it a tie like with the Bears and Cubs in Chicago?

The Lakers, without a doubt!!! But more people go to Dodger Stadium to see the Dodgers, then to Staples Center to see the Lakers.

There is no tie in Chicago. The Bears are the top sports team in Chicago without a doubt. Like many others nationally, people forget that the White Sox exist here. Meanwhile, the Bears receive 100% support whether you're a Cubs fan or Sox fan. Bears talk exists on the 2 sports radio stations here 365 days per year regardless of whether they are good or bad.

What's interesting is that the Cubs have more of a national following (partly due to WGN Superstation, partly due to mystique about Wrigley Field, and partly due to feeling sorry for a franchise that hasn't won a World Series in over a century), so that makes people outside of Chicago think that the Cubs are the top team in town. That's definitely not true.

The Lakers create more frenzy probably because they have won a lot more championship then the Dodgers. The Dodgers have only won 1 championship since 1980? The Lakers have won how many since 1980? I think 8.
