Looking for House to rent near Branson, MO (Springfield, Ozark: for sale, apartment)

Does anyone know a good online resource to look for housing near Branson. We want to buy but are not in position to do so just yet. My wife and I will have to rent for a little while but would prefer a house. It's kind of difficult looking for a house to rent online as I'm not too sure of the resources available in the area. Usually I use Craigslist but there's not much of a craigslist presence in the area understandably.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am looking to rent in Ozark and have had a hard time finding a rental home for a family with 2 labs. I also want to rent while I look for the right house and area to buy. I came across this ad in the Springfield Newleader newspaper and my hubby called and talked to the owner who told him she charges $ 25.00 which I think is quite a bargain and she will find you exactly what you are looking for. She goes through every ad and every connection and will find your rental for you. She has a website accessrentalsonline.com. Her name is Lori VanHorn 417-869-6204. I will be using her to find mine. I am looking for a house, also, and here's what I do. Put Newspapers, Missouri into your search engine. It will bring up both newspaper List, and newspaper Link. I like the List better. Click on the city and you can look in the local newspapers.

Hey, Just wanted to pass along to you that we have a home that we own that has come up for rent in Branson West area. It is about 15-20 minutes from the main strip in Branson depending upon traffic. We moved there while we were evacuated during Hurricane Katrina. But our business has kept us back in New Orleans, LA so we really need to rent this home.
It is a two story home, 5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, living room that goes out onto a deck that overlooks Table Rock Lake, Full Kitchen/Dining Room. Basement has 2 of the bedrooms, large laundry/pantry store room, separate storage or unfinished office work room. Also, has a large living room area in the basement as well. Sits on I think 1 1/2 areas of land. If your a hunter you'll love our land. This is just a few things about the house. There is so much more to say about it, but let me know if you all are interested and we'll go from there.

Although I don't handle rental properties, I was helping one of my clients find something to rent last week and discovered first hand how very frustrating it is! There are a few property management companies, as a place to start:

Branson Tri-Lakes Property Management 417-739-1902
(all they do is PM, they are not also a sales company)
Bart & Brown 417-336-0300
Thousand Hills 417-334-4039
As far as online, you might try Hometown Daily News

You need to understand that this area is really just a series of small towns with very big reputations...don't expect the kind of services (like large rental companies or those little rental home books) that you'll find in an area with a large population.

I ended up finding my client a house to rent that had been for sale and the owners took it off the market for a while. Once in a while I run across that...

I too am looking for a affordable house to rent in the branson area. I have been living in an apartment with my two cats but i have a very crazy alcholic drug induced neighbor and this apartment living has not been a good experience for me. My husband might have a job soon too so he will be joining me so we need a house in the branson area as we want to get settled before we and have time and not wanting to buy house right away. i would appreciate any help also
