Sold my Oklahoma lake house. Still have a lake camp on Toledo Bend in northern Louisiana. But am really thinking that after I fix that up I will sell it and head for the Missouri Ozarks. I think I may get my fill of lake living and am now seeking some "live water" that is cold and clear. Am now 60 years of age and still work in Pensacola, Florida. Have done my research and decided on the Eminence/Van Buren area as that is the heart of spring country. Will visit Spring of 2011 and really look around. I am in good health but I am also looking into medical facilities and good dentists. I don't like to drive in bigger towns so I think I might like to avoid Springfield/Branson, although I am familiar with Skaggs medical. Looks like Rolla and Poplar Bluff have good medical centers for most problems that might crop up. Would be really interested in hearing from anyone who lives or has retired in the Eminence-Van Buren or areas around Shannon County. I am looking for a few acres with a small but perennial spring and possibly a small cabin. Van Buren has a street called "water cress"--that's pretty neat! I just like springs, period.
