Bolivar - Springfield Commute
There is a job position available in Bolivar, but I want to know how bad this would be to drive to from Springfield in the mornings during the week.

It will take almost an hour, depending on traffic and where you work and live.

Thanks. That's a hefty commute.

I used to do 45-50 minutes when I lived in a Minneapolis suburb. It depends on what you are used to.

Depends on the time of year as well. Winter? Icy roads? YIKES!
Why not just pack up and move to Bolivar?

Oh, I always forget about the icy roads. I am used to commutes. I live in the metro DC area and it takes me an hour to get anywhere. I deal with grid lock here, so it would be a little different there. However, my husband is going to be in Springfield for college and he's most looking forward to not having to commute. I don't mind it so much. Gives me a litte time to myself and I can listen to the radio, but I don't know what I will do on days that there is ice!
Is the drive winding or is it pretty straight ahead?

If you head up 13 it's not a bad drive; except for winter conditions. And that entire area get ice every winter; especially in the Spfld area. Jan and Feb are the worst months. I guess there were no jobs in Spfld for you? Usually Bolivar has very limited job openings, and pay is low.

Sorry, maybe that was a little to personal to put on the internet. Basically, I work in the medical field and both the hospitals in Springfield have their own schools for what I do. Recently there was a graduation, so it's been difficult for me as an outsider to get a job.

I understand. I am familiar with CMH in Bolivar. I lived in Bolivar for awhile. I'm glad you secured employment. It is not all that easy to get hired sometimes. I wish you luck in your new home and your new job!

Well, I haven't actually been hired yet. I did however submit my application yesterday. So, keeping fingers crossed that something good happens. Thanks for your responses, they were very helpful.
