My husband and I went to visit in Feb. and loved the south part of the town. We didn't have much time to look around, but I found two apartments that I really liked. Golden Pond and Lake Shore Apartments. Golden Pond is like almost every other new apartment in the area and they are all built almost the exact same floor plans. TLC properties look like the most "luxury" type, but they are a little more expensive and you get the same floor plan. I loved the area around Lake Shore Apartments. That area is really nice. There are all these shops and resteraunts that you can literally walk to right behind the apartments. I even think there is a movie theatre back there too. The houses behind that are really nice as well.

Here are some links:

We currently live outside of D.C. (my husband is in the military), but he is getting out and going back to college in Springfield. I am moving to Springfield August 1st. In fact today we put down a deposit at Lake Shore Apartments. We are wanting to rent before buying. I am a Rad Tech too. I haven't actually found a job yet, but have been trying. Are you going to work as a Tech while you are in school?

Wow, it looks like we could be friends in the near future! I'm not sure if I am going to work as a Tech while I am in school. I'm gonna kind of see how it goes and if we need the money then I will try to find something. Maybe even just call on weekends. So don't worry for now....I am not your competition for a job yet! Just kidding..... What is your husband going to school for?

What do you know, I'm a rad tech too, although I work in Joplin! We (St. John's Reg. Med Center) are the clinical site for the x-ray students at MO Southern State University in Joplin. Several of our girls have gone on to Ultrasound school in Springfield- I assume it is the same one? Two of them are currently attending. Good luck to you-I hear it is hard work, but once you are through, many job opportunities are available.

I live in Phoenix just 10 min. from Mayo Clinic. My family and I just got back from Springfield, MO. WE LOVED IT. We still have about two years before we can leave this hell hole we are living in.

I found some amazing houses for more then 1/2 of what I'm paying in Phoenix. The weather was so refreshing. It rained a couple of days and we loved the fact that it wasn't sunny all day everyday. I loved the change in the weather. Everyday was different. Rented a boat and went to Table Rock Lake, that was amazing.

My favorite town was Republic, and Nixa. Just 10 mins. outside Springfield. I liked Ozark, Mo too.

We spent lots of time in Branson. Lots to do,a week wasn't enough time.

I miss MO. The people are so friendly, everyone spoke English and it was so GREEN with so many trees. You'll love it....

Joplin is about 80 miles west of Springfield on I-44. I actually live in Carthage, which is 20 miles east of Joplin. I work 3 12-hour shifts a week, so driving back and forth isn't so bad. There are 2 large hospitals in Joplin, as well as numerous doctor's offices and Carthage has a small hospital also. How long have you been a rad tech? I've been doing this for 18 years.
