Default Asian student moving to Springfield for college

I'm an asian student from NYC. I am considering something somewhat drastic. I am considering Missouri State University to get my Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. The school looks nice and tutition is fairly cheap. I have never been to Springfield Missouri... Are they any asians? Racism? Are the people accepting of other races? I know it is the bible belt area, but that doesn't really bother me because I am mostly conservative and have christian views.. Let me know guys... Thank you. :-)

Default ...you'll do fine.

There is an Asian population in Springfield and it's a multicultural city...albeit a small city with a small mix of culturals. There has been an Asian population here for years but it's not like NYC, Seattle, San Fransisco, etc.

But I think most young adults don't view cultural differences the same way their parents, grandparents did/do. I think young adults don't even think about the "differences", but rather the people themselves.

Come on down and visit. It's VERY different than the East, but it's a great place...a lot slower paced.

Yes, I think you'll like MSU, though being from NYC, you might find Springfield itself a tad boring in comparison. MSU students (and alumni such as me ) are very accepting of other races (or at least it seemed so when I was a student there). There's not a large Asian population, but there is one, particularly on campus. If you have any other q's about MSU life, feel free to pm me, I'll try to help!
