Default Moving To Branson Area

Hi all! I've been lurking awhile and finally have a concrete question. We're in WI now, but my husband has taken a job in Branson. I've never been to MO other than KC, so have no idea. I don't think we want to live right in Branson, but nearby. We'll be renting for probably a year and I'd like to find just a normal 3 bedroom house, hopefully with basement. I do want to be in one of the A+ school districts since my oldest will be in highschool soon. Hoping to find something within 10-20 miles of Branson. Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

Hi kbeans...and an advance welcome to our fair city!
If you haven't been here you may not realize what a small town Branson is...there's still only about 7500 population (obviously you can find out stats right here on city data!) and we're surrounded, loosely, by a series of other small towns.
It's very easy to be "out" of the town and still close enough to conveniences...however you may not be ready for the terrain! This is a very mountainous area...lots of up and down and winding roads (charming, yes...but takes time to drive anywhere...) and 20 miles can take you 45 minutes to drive.
As far as school districts, check them out directly, of course, but people seem to really go for the Branson School district. I don't have little people in my house any more, but Branson has a great new high school with awesome facilities...try this link: Branson Public Schools.
There's a bunch of nice people on this board who are familiar with the area...and we are talking about a Newcomer's Club...see that thread back a few days.
Again...welcome!
