DustySundog is on a distinguished road
Default Springfield hicks

Regrettably my family and I have lived in Springfield for eleven miserable months. My suggestion to anyone thinking about moving here is this, have your head examined. No matter how much lipstick you put on a pig, it is still a pig. We moved here with the intention of buying a house and making this our home. I can say this with total convection of the heart, on my knees I truly thank God we have not purchased a house yet. Springfield is the phoniest town our family has ever had the misfortune to live in. People around here act friendly as long they have something to gain. Beyond that, the people of Springfield will ********* long after you’re dead. This town may seem like a bright shiny spot on the horizon but deep down they are a black hole filled with self-centered lazy white trash hillbillies. Yes, that is what I said and I mean exactly what I said. We would prefer living homeless on the steps of hell as opposed to calling Springfield Missouri home. And no we are not staying, we are already in the process of moving and hopefully be spending our Christmas with real people. The only good thing I can say about Springfield is that they do have a good west bound Interstate leaving this hick town. I would like to expand on this but the list is too long. We have been taken advantage of by the schools, real estate people, brokers, bankers, employers and police. Look after yourselves and trust no one, don’t believe what you see or hear. Keep one hand on your rear and the other on your pocketbook.

Dusty, I'm so sorry to hear what a bad time you've had here in MO. If you have spent much time here, you will see that your experience is an exception to the rule. I do hope your bitterness will not continue to affect your future. In your anger, you are creating new problems for yourself...problems that I hope you won't then blame on others, as well. I hope all goes well for you wherever you move. Just remember, people are people wherever you go.

To other forum readers:
I know there are people who will take exception to this post and you would have a right to do so but I urge you to let it go. Dusty's experiences and resulting anger has caused him to lump everyone into one group and say hurtful things. Hopefully, he will go on with his life and leave MO, including this forum, behind.

I would like to take a second to remind everyone that a completely off topic/irrelevant post can and should be reported to the moderators via the little red framed triangle that resides in the upper right hand corner of our slick lil posting windows.

Depends on whether my mother comes with me and if I bring Boof, what time she has to be back to pick up her dh.

I'd better not commit...even though you know I would soooo love to do that!!!

Then, you and I will meet up in Ozark and I'll drive the rest of the way in my car. That way, you only have to drive from Ozark to Springfield to pick up whats-his-name after work and he can drive the rest of the way home. You and I will just hang out until you have to pick him up.

Sound like a plan???

We can't have our little one-woman-welcoming-committee not attend! It just won't be the same without you!....
MrsG, 'Plan A' sounds like one heck of a plan!!! It's an offer I can't refuse. I CAN'T WAIT!!! We can call each other to finalize the details. Boy, I sure do look forward to seeing you again. And don't worry, I'll be sure to bring the 'zoom' lens for my camera too. hehehehe

Default Greetings from Santa Fe from MrsC

So sorry I won't be in the area to make it. But I'm soooo happy you guys are getting together.

Have a virtual latte for me! I'll be thinking of you while we are on the road heading towards Las Vegas.

Back by Halloween....we can start planning for the Nov. "klatch".
