Hi Ya'll,

Man, you don't know how super bummed I am that I couldn't make it to the gathering. I was sooooooo looking forward to meeting more of the great people here. Alas, my little girl Maggi had yet another 'episode', and I had to take her to the Vet. Doc says it's either Thyroid, Low Blood Sugar or Ulcers. Fortunately, she's stable for now....Whew!!!.....we'll see how her new diet helps. Anyhoo, that's why I couldn't go be with you all, and it looks like it was a great success!!! It's nice to hear all the positive comments, as it serves as more confirmation that we really are a great bunch, and really do enjoy each others' company. I don't know 'bout you, but to me, that says a lot.

Gripster, LCE & Family, Darlynn....please accept my apologies for missing out on the chance to meet you....especially LCE....you were here on a special visit, and now I'm gonna have to wait until your next visit to meet you. Gripster & Darlynn, I sure do hope you make it to the next meet.....I'm dying to meet you two!!!!!

As for the next meet....Darlynn suggested' Pizza & Beer' as an idea. I sooooo SECOND that motion!!! PLEEEEEZE!!!!!! We can do it when most people aren't working, (evening or weekend), and spouses can attend too. We could have it at someplace like 'CiCi's' pizza in Springfield, where they have it buffet style...so you can get pizza, or salad, or dessert, or something else that fits your dining/dietary preferences. As for the Wine & Cheese option.....while that would be fun....I think something more casual would be better for our first 'non-coffee' gathering.

The tricky part is when to have it. Thanksgiving will be creeping up on us, which can be a busy time. Suggestions....Thoughts.....Comments...?

Wishing I'd Been There,
Boof

Talking Pizza 'n beer...ahem...er...ah...rootbeer...?

Why does that sound so good?

Looking at a calendar, it seems a good time to meet would be election day...Tuesday November 6th...after you vote, of course. Say...5 ish?

(Please feel free to suggest another day...just thought I'd throw that out!)

And...does anyone know a good locally owned pizza pub either on the south side of Springfield...or Ozark...?

Hey LJ,

Glad to hear you had a good time at the 'Klatch', as MrsC calls it. I sure missed seeing you and the gang. It is my hope that if we have the next meet during non-working hours, that perhaps we'll have a better turn out.

As for Nov. 6th., that's not gonna work for me. Hubby's hours will change, and won't be off work until 6:30p, so by the time he got from Spfd to home, and then back again, it'd be 8p before we got there.

Can I place a vote for a Saturday afternoon? If DH has to work, he'll get off at about 10a, so that'll give more time for us. Everyone, I'm sorry to seem like such a pain, but with only 1 vehicle, it's very difficult to work it out. Again, I'm soooo sorry.

As for locations....There are four that might work. They are in the mid to south part of Springfield.

1. The Pizza House-1349 S. Glenstone Ave.-417-881-4073
2. McSalty's Pizza Cafe-1550 E. Battlefield St.-417-883-4324-(Franchise)
3. Neighborhood Pizza Cafe-3550 S. Glenstone Ave.-417-833-4411
4. Cravin' Pizza-4560 S. Campbell Ave.-417-889-2255

Keep in mind, I've never been to these places, so maybe some of you know more about them than I obviously do...er don't. LOL

LJ, since you know the area pretty good....have you heard of these places?

Well, that's all I've got for now. I'm anxious to hear from the rest of yas.

Have a great day,
Boof

We do tend to do that, don't we?

Maybe we otta do like some o' da uddas have suggested and keep a close eye out for each udda. Ya know.....watch each uddas backs. Maybe we'll head off the 'topic police' and not get in so much trouble. Although, sometimes it's soooo hard, isn't it?

Boof

Default Sat Nov. 8th?

I'm so glad ya'll had a great time at GJ's! I'm bummed I missed it.

I'm ok with a Sat. but don't know about LJ or anyone else that may be involved in real estate, retail, etc.

It would be better, for me, if we could do it after the 5th as I'll still be in a cast until then (ie...no driving).

Cool Saturday...ahem...the 10th?????

Mrs. C...you may have been looking at December...I'm just glad I'm not the only one that does that! In November that second Saturday is the 10th...

And...Saturdays are fine with me...unless something pops up.
How about the rest of you all...Saturday afternoon the 10th?

As for where, I'd vote no on the Pizza House, definitely yes on McSaltys on Battlefield...and I haven't been to the other two.
