I do know how it is. I'm glad you're being careful not to overdo it. You just keep on bein' smart and you'll continue to enjoy your holidays...and your family will still be able to enjoy you, too! We'll miss you but we totally understand! Don't we, everyone???
I was told tonight that the women's group at church has scheduled a lunch and cookie exchange at a tearoom in Rogersville but I told them I already had a cookie exchange planned for that day. If it was my husband's work, I would have canceled this one and gone to his party, like you are. Have a great time! It'll do both of you good for his company to meet you and get to know you both!

missouri bound
Thanks for the welcomes! We would be on the road right now; but we have to sell our home, which can be something of a problem in the current real estate market. As to why we chose Springfield/Southwest Missouri... Well, we spent 10 years in Northwest MO. We both went back to school and got our undergrads at Northwest Missouri State. One winter I had two pieces of art accepted into a show in Springfield. So I loaded both children in the car along with luggage and boxes and ventured forth in not that great weather to deliver my art to the show. Well we all survived and I then went back several weeks later and saw my works on display. We also spent some time camping/fishing/hiking in the Springfield/Branson area and fell in love with this part of the US. Now we have been hither and yon (Arizona, California, and Nevada); and one son complete with wife and children now resides in Springfield and we really miss those grandchildren. So we are Missouri Bound for sure. This seems like a nice group.

But...We are so excited about Springfield. The city seems to offer a lot for its residents. Beautiful country, a not too big-not too small metropolis, university, parks, lots of recreational possibilities including hunting and fishing and camping, lakes and rivers etc. We have spent 10 years in the desert and yearn for the green of home and the change of seasons. Hope to join you all in person if the coffee clatches continue.

In that show I had a weaving and a stoneware bowl,(thrown and altered). My specializations for the BFA were jewelry and pottery.

Where in Southern CA? I grew up in Orange County and we spent three years in North County, San Diego while my husband went to grad school. Have roamed all over Southern California. I also hope our transition is quick and safe. Thanks!
